In recent years there has been a national drive to bring
transparent health care to the consumer. In recognition of
the importance of valuable health care information, the 2007
Nevada Legislature, spearheaded by Assemblywoman Sheila Leslie,
enacted Assembly Bill 146 (AB146). All interested parties,
including the consumer, were invited to participate in this
legislative process. In December of 2008, the final regulations
for AB146 were passed. (
R151-08).
This website, when complete, will provide transparent health care information for inpatient and outpatient care in the hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers of Nevada. The information can be viewed several ways:
- Episodes of hospital care can be quickly and easily scrutinized by facility.
- Cases, charges and lengths of stay can be viewed by diagnoses and treatments.
- Reports can be generated by Gender and Age Group.
For those that need to see data in even greater detail, other breakouts such as admission type, discharge status and payer code are available.
- This website is a tool developed for you the consumer – to help you evaluate health care in Nevada and make informed health care decisions.
We welcome your feedback and will incorporate suggestions in future iterations as this website develops.
